In Matthew 13:47-50, Jesus tells a fishing story to help us understand God’s righteous judgment. At first glance, the story can feel unsettling because it causes us to ask, “What does my future hold?” But if we look a little closer, we discover that this parable also contains good news which is pointing us toward mercy and assurance.
