Equip Classes
We, at Mercy Hill, have a passion to help people grow as knowledgeable believers in Bible, theology, and spiritual formation. For four Sundays, starting on June 25th, we will have three lecture format classes to engage, instruct, and send you back into your communities and community groups!
Below are the instructors and a short description of each class. When you register you’ll need to chose one of the three classes. Each Sunday we will share a meal together at 5 pm, then dismiss for the lectures starting at 5:30, and finish the night at between 6:30 and 7:00. Child care will be provided with activities for all ages.
The Story of the Bible – Jason Sampler
The word Bible literally means “the book” in Greek, but throughout this course you’ll see how the Bible’s story is actually many stories inspired by God and written by man over the course of centuries – even millennia – that all point towards one person; Jesus. During this class, you’ll learn about how the Old Testament and New Testament are closely connected with the story of Jesus Christ.
How to Talk About Jesus Without Being Weird – Jason Keel
This is an evangelism workshop designed to be easily and immediately applied to our every day life. Each session will focus on: “who is my neighbor?”, a new approach to evangelism, and training on several evangelism tools. Come ready to apply what you’ve learned with the people you interact with on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
A Prayerful Like – Nikki Brooks
Prayer is hard. Often, unless circumstances demand it, most of us simply do not pray. This kind of prayerlessness can leave us with a distressed spirit and practical unbelief characterized by fear, anxiety, joylessness, and spiritual depression. In this course, you’ll learn the skills and heart that will encourage you to pursue a vibrant prayer life full of joy and power.
